Application requirements:

A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale is required by The Graduate School for admittance. The undergraduate work should have been in animal science, range science, or a related field. Faculty members must agree to advise students before they are accepted into the Animal and Range Sciences department. Acceptance to the MSU Animal and Range Sciences Department does not imply automatic acceptance to The Graduate School at MSU. Financial support in the form of research assistantships and/or tuition and fee waivers is limited and will be awarded on a competitive basis.

The department does not require a GRE; however, specific faculty advisors may request a GRE as a condition of accepting an advisee.

All applicants must upload unofficial transcripts during this online process, even if they are working on their degree. If accepted, MSU must receive official transcripts directly from all university(s) attended. Transcripts should be sent electronically to or mailed to MSU, Animal and Range Sciences, P.O.
