Mathematics Education Concentration

All mathematics education option students must meet the requirements of the Elementary Education K-8 curriculum, with these additions:

M 420Geometry, Measurement, and Data in the Middle Grades3
or M 424 Algebraic Thinking and Number Sense in the Middle Grades
Choose two of the following:6
Recommended Mathematics Elective: (cannot double count in any credits)
Precalculus
Survey of Calculus
Calculus I
Geometry, Measurement, and Data in the Middle Grades
Algebraic Thinking and Number Sense in the Middle Grades
Intermediate Statistics with Introduction to Statistical Computing
Or another approved Mathematics course
Total Credits15

All courses in this concentration must be completed with a grade of C or better and with a minimum option GPA of 3.0. Students choosing this option voluntarily select a program that requires additional coursework beyond the 120 credits required for a standard four-year degree. This concentration does not lead to additional licensure.
