- <p>This one credit seminar is an integral part of the First Year Research Experience (FYRE) program.  Learning outcomes include the following: </p> <p>1.  Students will receive foundational training to help them find and successfully engage with faculty mentored research placements. </p> <p>2.  Students will gain an understanding of Responsible Conduct of Research, including historical roots, current issues, and training certification. </p> <p>3.  Students will gain an understanding of research-related opportunities both long-term i (i.e. career and graduate school) and short-term (i.e. advanced undergraduate research opportunities and programming at MSU). </p> <p>4.  The seminar will provide an additional layer of support and community for first-year students engaging in undergraduate research. </p>
USP 290R Undergraduate Scholars Program: 1-4 Credits (1 Lec)
PREREQUISITE: 1st or 2nd year student and consent of collaborating faculty member. First and second year students in this course will conduct research in collaboration with a faculty member which may culminate in a research paper, a journal article, or an oral presentation. Course will address responsible conduct of research
