AS 403D  Monsoon Asian Civilization: 3 Credits (3 Lec)

PREREQUISITE: WRIT 101W or consent of instructor. Explores the cultural traditions of over a dozen countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia under the monsoon rain shadow, including architecture, art, government, philosophy, society, and family and gender dynamics

View Course Outcomes:

  1. Identify and compare salient features of Monsoon Asian Civilization in its expanse over a dozen countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.
  2. Think and write critically about issues related to Monsoon Asian Civilization.
  3. Analyze issues from different cultural, ethnic, and historical perspectives.

AS 490R  Undergraduate Research: 3 Credits ()

PREREQUISITE: Junior or senior standing; Major or minor is Asian studies or related discipline. Directed undergraduate research in Asian Studies which may culminate in a research paper, journal article, or undergraduate thesis
