The College of Letters & Science is the largest, most comprehensive college at Montana State University, offering 16 majors with 49 options and 31 minors for undergraduates. The College’s 13 departments span the humanities, natural sciences, mathematical sciences, and social sciences. We prepare students to become creative, bold, and independent thinkers and equip them for career and lifelong success in their chosen fields. We offer many pathways and degree programs for students to explore our complex and interconnected world and learn how to be creative and innovative, analyze and solve problems, communicate clearly and persuasively, understand different cultures, and become leaders in their professions and communities.
College of Letters & Science faculty members are well-known for their contributions to their fields and have an impressive record for winning competitive national grants to support research and scholarship.
