AHHS 450  Interprofessional Collaboration Practice Skills: 1 Credits (1 Other)

The primary goals of this seminar are to bring students enrolled in health care programs together to learn about interprofessional collaborative practice concepts and further develop skills needed to work as interdisciplinary teams in various health care settings.

View Course Outcomes:

  1. Articulate the four core competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice.
  2. Describe the primary role and responsibilities of your chosen profession.
  3. Describe your role and contributions as an interprofessional team member.
  4. Explain the distinct and inter-functioning roles of two other members from other disciplines on the clinical team.
  5. Further develop a working ethical perspective which can be applied to team-based clinical situations.
  6. Describe the key characteristics of an effective team and identify two effective team work strategies.
  7. Identify factors which contribute to barriers to effective teamwork and potential solutions to overcome barriers using conflict resolution styles.
